Personality Test – A Key to Finding Yourself

“You are kind and quiet, though sometimes impatient and quick to anger when you are stressed.”

No, nobody said that to me; that was me talking to myself. Nevertheless, that’s my personality, and I feel it’s important to recognize who we are so that we can make improvements toward ourselves.

Everyone has Different Personalities

Last year, I came across a website called 16Personalities. Based on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), by (truthfully) answering a few questions about yourself, it will reveal the personality type that fits closest to you.

The image below shows the 16 types of personalities the MBTI listed:

It goes like this:

  • Extrovert or an Introvert – how do you energize yourself?
  • What do you pay most attention to – the finer details or the overall meaning?
  • How do you make decisions? Based on logical reasoning, or feeling for the other’s true intent?
  • How do you perceive complex information?

My personality, after completing the test, reveals that I’m:

  • Introverted. I would like some alone time to recharge myself; (I)
  • Pay most attention to the overall meaning based on patterns; (N)
  • Make decisions based on feel, and prioritize people and emotions; (F)
  • I like to simplify complex information so I can eventually solve the problem; (J)

INFJ – the Advocate, joining the ranks of Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Gandhi…. and Nicole Kidman.

Incidentally, learning this information results in the decision to create Sam of Hearts – I want the create an ideal where people can search for their own happiness.

What’s Your Personality?

It is important to note that the long-held assumption of fixated personality from childhood to adulthood is debunked; your personality changes gradually over time. Therefore, forget what your parents and your friends told you in the past – find out what your currently personality is by taking a personality test.

Once you find your personality, you can expand your findings with what your strengths and weaknesses are, careers that you are passionate with, and building meaningful relationships with others. It will save you a ton of time and grief in the long term. Plus, it brings thoughtful conversations among friends and family!
